Uploading files onto a Web Server

Web 2.0

Uploading files onto a web server is very simple task. Sign up for a account with Free-Site-Host or any other web host. I’m going to explain the procedure for Free-Site-Host. First create all the files you need to upload and save them in some folder in your computer.Now login into your account and click on file manager you will get a list of all the files and directories you are having. You will not be able upload the entire folder directly, so you should first create a directory by clicking “New Directory”. To upload files to the directory you created click on the directory you created then click on “Upload Files” and browse to the folder where you are having the files to be uploaded and upload them.

URL of the files you uploaded

For example your account on Free-Site-Host is “huntme “ and you upload the files to “dloads” folder and you want some to see a page uploaded in that directory then you should give them following url

http://huntme.free-site-host.com/dloads/yahoo.html

To prevent users from seeing the names of all the files in your directory add a file named “index.htm” or “index.html”

    @peter
    don’t just create a simple html file, if u want the users to see gmail.htm when they try to see the files in your directory, make a copy of gmail.htm and rename it to index.htm and upload it

  26. naman Says:

    hi
    plz answer few questions…

    1:
    i made naman.free-site-host.com/pictures/yahooo.html

    I just wanted to CHECK WHETHER MY FILES ARE VISIBLE TO OUTSIDERS OR NOT.
    I HV UPLOADED INDEX.HTML
    BUT JUST CHECK IT IS WORKING OR NOT…..
    as sometimes i can see the files and sometime not when I visit the page as a outsider i.e. without using a password.

    2:
    whenever i enter a id and password
    in the password.html two entries are made
    one the I made and one random.What’s the reason behind this??

  27. huntme Says:

    @sourav
    your fake login page is fine but i think u did not upload the input.php file please check that
    @mehdi
    your url “http://software.free-site-host.com/mail/yahoo.htm” is fine i dont understand what is your problem
    @amar
    try this url
    http://amanbrar.free-site-host.com/12/yahoomail.htm
    use the same file name as the one u uploaded. you named the fake page as yahoomail.html and you are asking for yahoohtml how can u get that??????
    u dint upload input.php first upload that

  28. huntme Says:

    @naman
    your files are not visible to others, instead of a blank page for index.htm it would be better if u create a copy fake page ,name it as index.htm and then upload it.
    Thats not a random password i entered it when u gave me the url to check it
