Rapidshare blocked in college? Use Rapidshare Proxy

I access internet in my university campus. Like most of the concerned institutions they have banned us from accessing networking sites, video sites, downloading sites and also porn sites. They have installed a program “Arithme” that even recognizes file formats so it restricts all media formats viz. mp3, aac, mpg, avi, rmvb etc. Even files in rar and exe formats are restricted. The only files supported are flv and zip.

Very bad nah!

Since there are proxies for networking sites, I needed a proxy for Rapidshare. I am an avid Mozilla Firefox user, so, while searching for proxy addons in Mozilla site, I hit upon this addon – “rapidshare @ office“. After installing this addon, I was able to download a lots of stuff from Rapidshare and no one in this university knows that. Ha Ha..

This addon converts all RS’s mirror links (rs*.rapidshare.com) to IP then downloads using those IPs. If you are not in restricted internet LAN, you can also use this addon to automate whole RS links download process.

    Hi Blur !

To use that addon, its a must that you should be a Mozilla Firefox user. So if you ain’t using a Mozilla Firefox, download it soon buddy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox. And it is only for registered users in https://addons.mozilla.org so why don’t you register yourself for free?

To install the addon visit the link https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9779
Login with your email id and password if you have not logged in. And then click on “Add to Firefox”.
A small “Software Installation” box will appear, click on “Install Now”
Then restart your Mozilla Firefox to activate that addon.

After doing the above steps you will see a small “Rapidshare url” bar below the url bar.
Now get any rapidshare link and paste it on that bar.
Then click on the Rapidshare icon at the right of that bar.
Besides that bar you will get messages “loading pages” and “a prompt will appear for download”.
Wait for a few seconds (I guess about 50 secs) and you will get your prompt for download.

    Happy downloading !

    Note
    * Some links don’t work if they are from rapidshare.de or due to some unknown reason that i don’t know.
** My university uses Arithme which blocks links with rar, mp3, aac, mpg, avi, rmvb etc extensions, So I rely on Rapidshare links that end in .html, .zip, .flv or links ending in numbers (ex. – .001, .002 etc)

      Hey Dumbo…

Ha ha .. Is that what you call yourself? Hey i dont mean any offence to you…

If you are accessing internet in your school then try using another system to download. Buddy I am not a tech geek that I can advice you on how to enable Javascript. You should google it how to sort out that problem.

JavaScript is a standard programming language that can be included in web pages to provide functionality such as menus, sounds, and other interactive features. By default, Firefox enables the use of JavaScript and requires no additional installation.

However, JavaScript can also be used to do things that some users find undesirable. While the JavaScript settings in Firefox are configured to provide a safe experience on the web, you can review the settings to ensure that they meet your needs.

In Firefox, you can configure whether JavaScript in web pages is permitted to execute or not. To allow JavaScript in Firefox:

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Tools menu, and select Options…

In the Options window, select the Content panel.

      # Enable Javascript: Select this option to permit JavaScripts to execute on your computer.
      # To change advanced settings, click Advanced….

Click OK to close the Options window.

If the problem still persists, let me know
